"The first few volumes of Injustice 1 were excellent. Then the story went haywire as the fighting escalated and went on endlessly, with people changing sides and making compromises that were totally out of character. The first volumes of Injustice 2 were a return to form (though not to the heights of the first trades). Once again, we've returned to the boring tactic of heroes changing sides (this is supposed to be dramatic and excite us) and new threats emerging. This has gone completely off the rails from the original story - Superman going nuts after the Joker killed a pregnant Lois Lane. Now this is just being written to sell books in an ongoing series, which goes completely against the point of an elseworld story.
The advantage of elseworld (or What If?) stories are that the creative team can make major changes and kill of characters. Now, we have characters in this elseworld story being brought back. Ludicrous."

The advantage of elseworld (or What If?) stories are that the creative team can make major changes and kill of characters. Now, we have characters in this elseworld story being brought back. Ludicrous. - In my review of “Injustice 2 Volume 3,†I wrote “I’m actually running out of things to say about this series Tom Taylor is delivering, for my money, the best ongoing series that DC is currently publishing.†One volume later, and I literally have nothing else to bring to the table this series still rocks, Taylor’s story is as compelling as ever, and the art by Bruno Redondo and Mike S. Miller is almost always top-notch (which, when you consider that this is a digital-first series, released WEEKLY, is doubly impressive). “Injustice 2†is proof that videogame-inspired fiction have the potential to be every bit as great as any other types of stories.
