National Geographic's wall map of Mexico is one of the largest and most detailed maps of the country. The signature Classic style design uses a bright, easy-to-read color palette. This map features thousands of place names, accurate political boundaries, national parks including Cumbres de Monterrey National Park, biosphere reserves including El Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve, archeological sites including the ruins of the Yucatan Peninsula, and major infrastructure networks such as roads, canals, ferry routes, and railroads. Mexico's diverse terrain is detailed through accurate shaded relief, coastal bathymetry, and symbolism for water features and other land forms. Elevations of major peaks are expressed in both feet and meters, and depth soundings are expressed in fathoms.
The map is packaged in a two inch diamater clear plastic tube. The tube has a decorative label showing a thumbnail of the map with dimensions and other pertinent information.

- This is a large, detailed, and mostly clear map of Mexico, which is also beautifully laminated. It contains an extraordinary amount of detail, including everything from major highways to obscure cities and rivers- everything that could reasonably expected to be included in a map of an entire country. For the most part, the map's layout as well as its legend make it easy to navigagte. My one minor gripe, however, is that the yellow lines dividing the different Mexican states are a bit difficult to distinguish from other lines and details. Even so, this is a minor issue, especially considering the inherent difficulty of keeping so many markings distinct from each other.
The technical details for this map are as follows the scale is 1 4,370,000, making an inch equivalent to 69 miles, or a centimeter to 44 kilometers, and the standard parallels are 29 and 11 degrees. - The map arrived in perfect condition in its tube. The tube was packed in an box.
I cut the border off the map and mounted it with spray glue on poster board so I can put pins in it. It's perfect for trip planning. - Great detail on this map, only very small towns are not labeled. Worked well for plotting a trip. I pinned it to a cork board an used map tacks to plan a route. I had to cut off the white border to make it fit in the cork board but it worked out well. Not laminated but still good quality.
- A very nice map. We just did a hiking vacation in the Hermisillo area and I wanted a good map to highlight the different areas we visited and hiked.
