Never Let Go Uncommon Justice Book #1 edition by Elizabeth Goddard Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

  • I enjoyed it, but felt the two main characters with whom were supposed to be trained, were either stupid or sloppy. I’m sorry I believe in God, and prayer. But I also believe in preventing situations....these two who had supposedly been involved in a relationship prior, knew nothing about each other, at least Willow was left out in left field. They prayed a lot but still brains and for thought were left at the door like they checked their coat in a restaurant. If they had been up front with the brother from the start and told him the birth mother was dying Hello but no they went all around the main issue the girl was to be found. This was so stupid, I’m sorry they had gut feeling about the sheriffs department, but still good ol Willow opened her mouth and let it flow....I mean she was supposed to be highly trained, and her grandfather was supposed to have taught her instincts? All she could think of was if she should trust Austin? I mean the guy saved her stupid life, was there for her and still she couldn’t act like a professional. As I said it held the mystery but it was like a Lassie movie back in the 50’s. Again I’m all for prayer but you can’t expect God to take care of you if you don’t use common sense. 😔
  • Never Let Go
    Uncommon Justice #1
    By Elizabeth Goddard

Willow Anderson isn't sure she'll ever be as good as her Grandfather, or as good as he thought she was, but she's determined to close out his last case. But the case he took just before his death is different than any they had ever before taken on. As a forensic genealogist, Willow is used to tracking down records and finding long-lost family connections but Anderson Consulting has never before taken on a cold case abduction.

Worse someone seems intent on stopping Willow before she can even get started. Is it mere coincidence or is someone truly targeting Willow?

Learning that her grandfather reached out to her ex-boyfriend Austin McKade for his assistance on this case is an unexpected complication. For the two years following their devastating breakup, they've managed to avoid seeing one another but they now find themselves working together. Secrets kept have a way of dividing and Austin's past was a topic of non-disclosure - the wounds of his childhood and his father's death went too deep.

Time is running out to solve a 21-year-old case in which a newborn was abducted mere hours after birth. Is Jamie still alive? And what clues can they find when the police and FBI could find no traces when the case was fresh?

This is a book that will take you on a rollercoaster as the case progresses and the danger continually builds to a climax that is sure to keep the pages turning. The book is marked as being the first in Uncommon Justice series so I'm interested to see how this plays out. Will it follow Austin and Willow? Or will Austin's brothers take central roles? Will Anderson Consulting be a common denominator?

The characters were engaging and well worth getting to know. And as to the perpetrator's identity that is a well-twisted excursion that will misdirect the reader a time or two until the conclusion!
  • Never Let Go was a very pleasant surprise for me. The synopsis grabbed my attention and the book did not disappoint me. It was well written and kept my attention on every page.
Willows grandfather dies and she decides to take the last case he was working on. A cold case over 20 years old. A baby abducted from the hospital and the birth mother is still looking for her.
Willow's ex boyfriend steps in to help. Of course they still care deeply for each other. He's ex FBI and has issues from his childhood and his job that he has to overcome. It wasn't that they had the "hots" for each other, they loved each other. It was a nice clean romance mixed in with all the mystery and action.
    I highly recommend this book.
I received this book from the publisher via Net Galley for my honest opinion.
  • If mystery and suspense, with a splash of clean romance, is your thing, you’re going to love this book. Just finished Never Let Go! Loved it! So many twists and turns. Woke up at 2 this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep so, I got up and read. It was definitely worth no sleep. Looking forward to the next book in the series.
  • I wish I could have read this in one setting. I didn’t guess ”whodunit” until close to the end.. A woman has her newborn baby taken in the hospital, then spends the rest of her life hiring P.I.’s to find her.
The action and close calls in this novel were over the top. That was the only thing I couldn’t believe. It was like, come on, seriously, again, he just tried to get her a few hrs ago. There were probably about 5 too many attempts on her life.
The overall story and writing were very good. The Christian element was mostly subtle not pushy, but also not character changing. A little prayer and things turned out. It felt a bit manipulated not natural and strong.
Overall it is a good story and fun read. I would recommend it.
  • I felt like the story was pretty scattered. Not confusing — just scattered. The story was easy to follow and understand, but it was very disorganized. I didn’t really like either of the main characters either. There was some cute moments between them, but overall, the romance was very underwhelming. I doubt I’ll read anything more by this author.
  • Never Let Go was an exciting and intense nail-biter that was hard to put down. It features one of the most attention-grabbing prologues in recent memory. I was instantly invested in the story and had to reach the conclusion as quick as possible.

Willow's job as a forensic genealogist was so interesting. I loved learning about all that goes into that career. It's so fascinating!

This was the first book I've read by this author and wow, was it good or what! I'm anxious for the next book in the series! I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense.
